Bad for Business

BAD FOR BUSINESS

by Lindsey Eck

Sixteen hours a day just to pay the debts
No time left for love, no time for cigarettes
Till we made our little merger and I gave in to your splurges
Now you’re stuck to me like butter on bread
You’re bad for the business
You took me deep in the red

You’re really bad for the business
Think of my bottom line
The way you move your assets
Ought to be a white-collar crime
I took your tender offer
Went like a bull to the slaughter
You’re bad for the business
I’ve got to let you go

I try to show you some office discipline
But you bust my bubble and that’s where trouble begins
You bend over my desktop enough to make my breath stop
You say we’re only playing to win
You’re bad for the business
We’re really spreading it thin

You’re very bad for the business
You’re bad for the firm
When I cut you your bonus
Sure makes the auditor squirm
You look so good on paper
But I thought this would be safer
You’re really bad for the business
I ought to let you go

You’re bad
So bad
You’re really bad — bad — bad
You’re really bad for the business
I ought to let you go

You’re very bad for the business
Can’t keep my eyes on my work
Eight days a month in Bermuda
You say it’s one of the perks
I gave you way too much credit
And I’ve begun to regret it
You’re really bad for the business
But I can’t let you go
